There are national and international hotels ranging from 3 to 5 stars and many inns and hostels for backpackers.  There are also hotels specializing in business travelers.

Recent years have seen a drastic increase in visitors interested in Bogotá’s restaurants.  International cuisine on offer is varied and of the highest quality, as is the food served in typical Colombian restaurants featuring regional dishes (Caribbean, Antioquian, Pacific, from the Valle del Cauca and Santander provinces, etc.) and in restaurants specializing in international twists on Colombian dishes.

Highways run from Bogotá to cities throughout the country.   The entire region is connected by major highways and some towns and villages are linked by country roads.

Many taxi companies offer hourly and daily service, or for the amount of time required.  There are also national and international rent-a-car agencies.  Inter-municipal travel is possible by bus and equipment can be transported by truck.

Communications and telecommunications services are available throughout the region.  Major cities offer broadband and Wi-Fi connections and intermediate cities and small towns have dial-up service.

Private hospitals and clinics in major cities offer first-class attention.  There are also municipal and departmental hospitals and clinics offering good general and emergency care.  There are medical centers in small towns and villages.

Most of the country’s production infrastructure is located in Bogotá.  Several equipment rental and sales companies offer the only high-tech film and hi-definition video equipment available in the region to countries throughout Latin America.  Also available in the city are specialized audiovisual post-production services, Intermediate Digital technology, color correction, special effects, sound and 5.1 mix technology and Dolby-certified studio services.
