Executive producer Giraldo left the legal profession ten years ago and decided it was time to pursue his ambition of making movies. Since the 2004 launch of RCN Cine, a subsidiary of the Colombian Ardila-Lulle conglomerate, Giraldo has been the executive producer of over 20 films, documentaries and shorts. The Colors of the Mountain (2011) was one of his most recent films with RCN Cine. The film won over 15 international awards, including best film at the San Sebastián Film Festival and the Cartagena International Film Festival (FICCI), and was Colombia’s official entry at the 2012 Academy Awards for Best Foreign Language Film.
In 2008, he co-founded a production services company with Helmer-Scribe and Felipe Aljure. Since 2011, Giraldo has directed Five 7 Media, a company that seeks to expand its content globally in order to highlight the presence of Colombian films. This has led him to develop projects such as “Default” (2014) by Simón Brand, the horror film “Gallows Hill” (2013) directed by Victor García, and the film “Ocean view crime” (2013) by Spanish director Gerardo Herrero.
