The Antioquia Film Commission, the Secretary of Tourism and the Colombia Film Commission organized the first familiarization trip exclusively for Location Managers.
This trip, conducted entirely by road, revealed the rich diversity of the Antioquia region, bringing together five international guests including John Rakich, Kent Ryushi Matsuoka, David Zachary Heine, Alison Adair Taylor, Amy Barager, Brittany Petros, all of them experienced location scouts, who explored the most emblematic locations of the department, where productions such as "Narcos"; "American Made"; "A cup of love"; "Orbit 9"; "My neighbor Adolf"; "Goles en contra": "Top Chef VIP"; among others, have been filmed.
The tour included destinations such as Rio Claro, Puerto Triunfo, Doradal, El Peñol and the vibrant city of Medellin, which has been the setting for productions such as "The Boy"; "La Reina del sur"; "Carthago" and "Love in the jungle".
This group of eager and dedicated location scouts conducted a detailed review of the hotel infrastructure, accessibility between towns and cities, and the region's varied scenic offerings.
The experience ended in Medellín, during Miradas Medellin Festival, at a networking brunch and then at the offices of the Institute of Culture, where the participants were introduced to Law 1556, which offers incentives for audiovisual projects totally or partially developed in the country, and the reasons why Colombia is a great scenario for filming.
The event management was in charge of the Location Managers Guild International, whose commitment guaranteed the success of this FAMTRIP experience.
This trip made a lasting impression on the participants and also reaffirmed Antioquia as a world-class film destination and Colombia as a film set full of possibilities and beauty.
