The Eloy Valenzuela Botanical Garden is a 7.5-hectare botanical garden, located in the municipality of Floridablanca in northeastern Colombia. Its name is in honor of the botanist, Juan Eloy Valenzuela y Mantilla. It is a member of the BGCI (Botanical Garden Conservation International). It was founded according to Law 13, on January 20, 1982 and inaugurated on August 3, 1990, at the initiative of Luis Arango Restrepo who developed beautiful native forests on the El Paragüitas farm, collected orchids and designed spaces to exhibit regional flora. santanderean
The botanical garden, a founding member of the national network of botanical gardens in Colombia, was legalized by the Ministry of the Environment and the Alexander Humboldt Biological Research Institute in 2000 as stipulated by Law 299 of July 1996.
