The Panopticon Cultural Complex in Ibagué is the ensemble of buildings and public spaces where a “regional museum” comes to life, giving way to an exhibition area integrated with spaces for artistic and cultural education, along with complementary areas that function as a whole, celebrating the essence of Tolima from social, cultural, artistic, and economic perspectives. This architectural monument in the shape of a Greek cross was built over a hundred years ago, a national monument and an example of 19th-century prison architecture. The museum brings together memory, human rights, music, art, craftsmanship, and the history of the department.
