Parque de Bolívar, or simply Parque Bolívar as it is popularly known, is an urban park located in the heart of the downtown area of the Colombian city of Medellín (Antioquia). It was inaugurated in 1892 and named after the liberator Simón Bolívar. In 1923, the equestrian statue of the hero was placed in its center, the work of the Italian sculptor Giovanni Anderlini and cast by the Italian sculptor Eugenio Maccagnani.
The park is the size of two blocks, with approximately 10,395 m² of area distributed between green and paved areas. It has a dense and varied tree cover, with numerous native species. In addition, it has within its urban furniture, with benches, water fountains, sculptures and other typical elements of similar public spaces.
