The Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) has elected Silvia Echeverri, director of the Proimágenes Colombia Film Commission, as its board of directors' vice-chair.
AFCI was founded in 1975 to bring together members of municipal, state, regional, provincial and national film commissions from the six continents. This organization aims to connect and educate film commissions to support audiovisual companies in fostering economic growth, strengthening the audiovisual infrastructure and professional development of the audiovisual sector in their contexts.
As part of the board Silvia Echeverri, together with members of the film commissions of Buffalo Niagara, Holland, Hawaii, United Kingdom, Ireland, Norway, Kenya, Australia and Mississippi will carry out a strategy during this year to help all AFCI members to attract filmmakers to their respective regions, becoming allies of the production houses and the economy of their countries.
