“The Changeling”, a new horror drama starring Lakeith Stanfield (Atlanta) and directed by Melina Matsoukas, will premiere on Apple TV on Friday, September 8. The project, a beneficiary of the Colombia Film Fund (FFC) cash rebate, is produced by Apple Studios and Annapurna with audiovisual services by Jaguar Bite.
The eight-episode series is based on Victor LaVelle's novel of the same name and stars Clark Backo, Adina Porter, and Samuel T. Herring. It tells the story of a couple trying to adjust to their new life as parents until Emma (Backo), wife of Apollo (Stanfield), commits a horrible act and disappears.
Filming took place at the end of 2022 in Santa Marta and is one of many that have been shot in the country, thanks to Law 1556. It is worth mentioning that Colombia is an important destination for audiovisual production, thanks to its economic incentives, locations, and highly qualified technical and artistic teams.
In addition, the series' cinematographer, Chris Norr, also known for his work on 'Succession', participated in a session of 'Experiencias que forman' on March 2, 2023, via Instagram Live. This is a knowledge transfer initiative of the Proimágenes Film Commission in alliance with the National Film School (ENACC).
“The Changeling” arrives on the platform on September 8 with the first three episodes, followed by a new weekly episode through October 13.
