Maria Cecilia Vásquez is one of Colombia’s female directors. She is a social communicator, graduated from the University Externado de Colombia in 1995. In her professional life she started as script supervisor on television and, after working as assistant director, in 2006 she became director. Her latest work as director was in “ Reencuentro” (2022) shortfilm produced by Fujifilms ,“It Wasn’t my Fault” (2020 – 2021), a television series for Disney Networks Latin America and in “I Am Maria Villa” (2021), another television series for PFM Producciones SAS.
Maria Cecilia has also had experience in film making as first assistant director in different films, the latest of which was “Amigo de Nadie” in 2018, as well as directing a short film called “Otra vez aquí”, which won the Smart Films competition called Great Stories in 2021.
Ceci, as she likes herself to be called, is personable, well liked and respected by the people she works with. Apart from her leadership qualities, her main asset is the direction of actors.
